From local knowledge to adaptation decisions.
Climate Bridge Alaska partners with rural communities to map climate impacts through storytelling, interviews, and local observation — then translates that knowledge into actionable data presentations and preliminary geospatial models for local decision-makers.
This platform is our proposed $20,000 seed project. It is a live geospatial modeling tool that presents preliminary data, synthesizing ecological impacts and community observations to directly connect UA faculty with rural decision-makers.
Four deliverables. One decision-ready package.
Built to present preliminary data: usable, scalable, and ready to support actionable climate adaptation science.
Interactive Climate Story Map
Geospatial + community data layer.
Community Adaptation Briefs
One brief per community — risks, vulnerabilities, priorities.
Regional Adaptation Summary
Synthesis across communities for decision-makers.
Actionable Data Packages
Structured outputs of preliminary data for ecological modeling.
Six tools. One bridge between community and research.
Interactive Climate Story Map
Geospatial layer combining community observations, hazards, and adaptation priorities across rural Alaska.
Community Adaptation Briefs
One per community: erosion risks, food security changes, infrastructure vulnerabilities, and local priorities.
Story Submission Portal
Photos, interviews, and observations from people on the front lines — the foundation of every brief.
